District Report Card

As the Superintendent of Bladen County Schools I would like to welcome you to the 2016 North Carolina School Report Card information site.  The report card is based on the performance results and data from the 2017-2018 school year.  Not only will you find important information about each of our 13 schools and the district, you can compare Bladen County schools’ data with North Carolina’s other 114 districts and the state as a whole.

Whether you are a parent, grandparent, community member or business owner, I hope you will take the time to look at the district and school report cards closely.  You will find information regarding student performance, performance on end-of-grade and end-of-course testing, graduation rates, school discipline, funds spent per student, student demographics, teacher qualifications, school and class size, principal qualifications, and much more.

While we are proud of our district performance in the accountability areas, we continually strive to improve student development and achievement. But we cannot improve without your help. I encourage you to be involved in your child’s education.  Talk to your child about what he/she does each day and keep the lines of communication open with your child’s teacher(s).  Great things are happening in our schools.  Take time to visit your child’s school and become involved in school activities and events.  You will be inspired by what you see!

I am extremely proud of our talented and caring employees.  We are dedicated to serving your children and to providing them with a safe and caring environment.  We also depend on you to be our partners, and we want to keep you informed.  We hope these report cards will give you the information you need to be part of our students’ continued success. Our staff and the Board of Education are focused on making our schools second-to-none.

The complete North Carolina Report Card is available on the NC Report Card website at www.ncreportcards.org.  The full report card for each Bladen County public school and for the district can be found at that same website.  A two-page summary, called the Report Card Snapshot, is posted there as well.
