Immunization requirements for 7th graders

posted Jan 25, 2016, 11:21 AM by Valerie Newton   [ updated Jan 25, 2016, 12:00 PM ]
Students entering 7th grade are now required by North Carolina Immunization Law to have one dose of Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccine and one dose of meningococcal conjugate vaccine for individuals who have not already received those vaccines.

Your child’s school will be offering a vaccine clinic in partnership with the Bladen County Health Department soon. If you would like for your child to receive this vaccine during the school clinic please complete the consent form, attach a copy of your insurance card, and return to your child’s teacher by Friday, February 5, 2016.

You will have 30 calendar days from the first day of school (7th grade) for the 2016-2017 school year, to provide the required up to date immunization record for your child. If proof of vaccination is not provided by the end of the 30 calendar day period, your child will be suspended from school until you provide proof of the immunization as required by law.

Please feel free to contact the school nurse at your child’s school if you have questions.
