Sold Out President and former pro football player Roman Gabriel III (Son of former Rams QB Roman Gabriel) will visit students in Bladen County Middle Schools: Tuesday December 15th: 8:30 am at Elizabethtown Middle School, 10:30 am at Clarkton School of Discovery with Clarkton and East Arcadia students, and 1:30pm at Bladenboro Middle. Wednesday, December 16th at 8:30 am Tar Heel Middle School. Since 2012 the North Carolina Sold Out Alcohol Abstinence and Character Program has influenced over 200,000 students, hundreds of teachers, coaches, and countless parents.

Sold Out Mission: To decrease under aged drug and alcohol usage in our schools and communities through educating students through assemblies and ongoing 365 online abstinence and character curriculum. CDC numbers report 28% of middle school students (8th graders) and 68% of 12th graders had tried alcohol, and 10% of 8th graders and 39% of 12th graders drank during the past month. On average, underage drinkers consume more drinks per drinking occasion than adult drinkers. Students who start drinking before age 15, are five times more likely to have an alcoholic dependency.

To date the program has seen up to 70 % of NC middle school students take a public alcohol abstinence pledge to be accountable to their teachers, coaches, parents, and fellow students. Over 4500 students have joined the Sold Out follow up program through different online platforms:  Available at official Sold Out Program Website at www.soldouttv.com! Last year saw over 800 immediate online student responses through the pledge program.

The Sold Out Program is not a short-term fix, but a long term 365 a year annual accountable 365-student alcohol abstinence education program. Goal to get a minimum of 35% of each generation of students to keep their alcohol abstinence pledge starting in middle school all the way through high school, and make the community aware of this challenge.
