Ms. Marjorie Graham
A native of Riegelwood, North Carolina and the East Arcadia community, and former student at East Arcadia School, I feel honored and privileged to serve the students of My Community! This is my first year as the Special Education Teacher at EAS. I received my BS Degree in Special Education with a Minor in Psychology from Winston-Salem State University. Having taught for over 34 years in New Hanover County Schools, I retired in 2015.
Returning to the classroom was not in my immediate plans, but God had other plans for me. In an effort to give back to my community and to help where I’m needed (former Girl Scout Troop Leader), I gladly accepted the EC Teacher position here at EAS. Working part time still gives me time to devote to my family (two daughters and a son-n-law), my extended family, and time to spoil my three grandchildren. I have been a widow for 8 years.
Though we are small in numbers at EAS, I believe we can and are doing great things! I believe, “Every Child Can Learn.” Sometimes it takes special people using the right techniques to make this happen.
During my career, I have had extensive training in processes and procedures to achieve success with students who are experiencing difficulties in school. This requires a partnership between the home and the school. Let’s work together and make this the “Best Year Ever!”
