Scholarship Opportunity

Attention Seniors! FOCUS Broadband is accepting scholarship applications until December 8, 2023. To be eligible applicants and/or their parents/legal guardians must be customers of FOCUS Broadband. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academics, school-sponsored activities, community involvement, and interviewing skills.

Bladen County Schools and Bladen County Sheriff's Office Announce New Partnership

Bladen County Schools and the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office are excited to announce a new partnership aimed toward enriching the educational experience for students taking classes in the Bladen County Schools Career and Technical Education (CTE) Law and Justice Academy. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, solidifying the partnership.

Wear Orange on October 18 for Unity Day

Unity Day, started by PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center as the signature event of National Bullying Prevention Month continues to grow every year as a tangible representation of the universal message that our society wants to promote kindness, acceptance and inclusion to prevent bullying.

On Wednesday, October 18th, plan to support the event by participating in the simple call to action—wear and share the color orange.

October Board of Education Meeting Highlights

Students from Dublin Primary School led the Pledge of Allegiance. 

The Board recognized the cafeteria staff from Dublin Primary School for their outstanding accomplishment of earning a 100 Sanitation Rating!

Educators who recently completed the Rethink Education's Blended Facilitator Pathway were recognized for successfully completing the program and earning their Blended Facilitator's Badge!

Farm Revival 2023: A Fundraiser Benefiting Working Lands Trust and Bladen County FFA

Working Lands Trust, a leading 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to protecting our working farms and forests, is joining forces with Bladen County FFA to launch an initiative aimed at conserving vital agricultural lands and rural communities. In support of this endeavor, the organizations will host Farm Revival 2023, a family-friendly evening filled with food, friends, prizes, and fellowship. This cornerstone community event will generate much-needed funds for Working Lands Trust's mission to safeguard our agricultural heritage while also benefiting the Bladen County FFA.

Bladen Early College High School Celebrates Class of 2023

Friends and family gathered on Friday, June 2, 2023, to celebrate the graduates from Bladen Early College High School.

Their ceremony was full of pomp and circumstance—beginning with the ceremonial processional and thoughtful invocation led by graduating senior, Trinity Bedsole. The evening included several speakers—Salutatorian Jessica Garcia-Bastida, Superintendent Dr. Jason Atkinson, Mr. Christopher Carroll, who previously taught at Bladen Early College High School, and Valedictorian Daniel Arellano. Early College Principal Mrs. Haley Cheshire presented the diplomas and led the class in the “turning of the tassels”.
