Parent Family Engagement

Bladen County SchoolsParent Family EngagementA requirement of ESSA, BCS Parent Family Engagement

Bladen County SchoolsParent Family Engagement   A requirement of ESSA, (the Every Student Succeeds Act) is that the district jointly develops and distributes to parents and family members a plan that describes how the district and schools will meet Title I legislative requirements.   The Bladen County Schools Parent and Family Engagement Policy is collaboratively developed between many stakeholders and outlines how the district and each Title I school plans to specifically engage parents in the instructional process. We desire for parents to be an integral component of the educational partnership to help every student reach his or her fullest potential.   In addition to school-related events, the district will provide parent events designed to obtain feedback, share information, and empower parents and family members to become active participants in the education of their children.    We provide hard copies of key communication as well as the annual district assessments required for students in each grade level.  We also utilize 21st Century technology tools to publish information on the district website, school websites, and various social media venues to provide parents and family members with timely and meaningful information.    These documents along with the district policy listed below not only support ESSA's goal to provide equitable services for all students but demonstrates our conscientious commitment to prioritize the importance of family engagement.
