National Board Certification Information
Upcoming Free Professional Development Webinars
Mark your calendars for this summer’s National Board Academy. Held virtually from June 28-30, this free three-day conference is open to all educators. This year’s theme of Connect, Reflect, Reimagine invites educators to come together to develop skills, learn from colleagues, and build community.
The line-up for this year’s event is being finalized and will feature a range of sessions on topics including teacher leadership, advocacy, education equity, and pursuing and maintaining National Board certification. There will also be space for educators to connect with other educators from across the country.

Feel free to share this email with your colleagues.
Registration will open soon and we will be back in touch when it’s time to reserve your place in this year’s National Board Academy! Visit our dedicated National Board Academy site for all of the currently available information.

New Resources for Component 1 (from NBPTS) - Thank you for your continued support and understanding as we transition our registration system. We wanted to highlight a new page to help guide candidates as they purchase components in the new National Board candidate registration and management system. It’s important to note that candidates being supported by a third-party payer, or using the payment plan, will have to apply for funding via a coupon code (by component) provided by the National Board. The coupon code(s) can be found in their National Board account. Below you’ll find a few short videos, which walk through the payment and Component 1 scheduling process. Currently, this page includes information on the following:
The team is also working on tutorials and screenshots of the ePortfolio submission process and will reach out as soon as those resources are available.

From NBPTS:
Authorization to Test Emails and Voucher Codes - The process for scheduling a Component 1 test date and submitting material for scoring is changing. In the past, we sent Authorization to Test (ATT) emails and ePortfolio voucher codes prior to the opening of the testing and submission windows. Beginning with the 2020-21 cycle, candidates will no longer receive an ATT or voucher codes - no action is required of candidates at this time. More information will be provided for Component 1 testing in the following weeks.
Opportunities to Partner - We are hosting four “Write in Community” sessions for candidates as we approach the submission deadline. The sessions will be held on 4/17, 5/1, 5/15 and 6/5 from 12pm to 3pm ET. It will be a virtual space for candidates to work on their written commentary. Candidates will not receive feedback on their writing but can bring questions that emerge as they are writing. We would love to have some experienced National Board Professional Learning Facilitators join to support with questions. If you are interested, please share your interest and availability here.
