Student support services, also known as "student services” provides opportunities for academic development, assist students with basic school requirements, and motivates students toward the successful completion of their education. The goal of SSS is to increase the retention and graduation rates of all students.
Student support services professionals provide direct services for all children and youth, especially those who are experiencing problems that create barriers to learning. Direct services are provided by means such as education, counseling, consultation and individual assessment.

The Student Services Department of Bladen County Schools organizes a variety of supports to enhance the well being of our students. These supports are designed to fulfill the emotional, physical, social, and instructional needs of our students. The department works with the schools, parents, and community partners to create positive emotional climates that help students maximize their potential in the education setting. The Department includes the services of School Counselors, Social Workers, Intervention Services, Behavior Specialists, and Nurses.
