    Teachers and staff will no longer need to place trashcans in rooms to catch falling water. Or, wrestle with a mop and bucket to mop up puddles of water collecting in the hallway. All because new roofs are coming.

    Bladen County schools has exceptional CTE programs because of support from our school board, administrative teams, CTE staff members, and business and industry partners. We are fortunate to have state of the art facilities and resources to support our teachers so they can provide the best CTE educational experience for our students. And the new incoming CTE director says they are thrilled to begin their new role as director.

    IRS Form W-4, which instructs employers how much tax to withhold, got a makeover for 2020 from the Internal Revenue Service. The redesign reflects changes to the federal tax code from the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which took effect last year. The update, the I.R.S. said,

  • Maintain, Don't Gain Challenge

    The Holiday Challenge is a FREE weight maintenance program that runs from Thanksgiving through New Year’s Eve. Instead of focusing on losing weight during such a hectic time of year, we encourage participants to maintain their weight throughout the holiday season. During the 7-week program we send weekly newsletters, daily tips, weekly challenges, and healthy holiday recipes directly to participant’s inbox to help them stay encouraged and motivated. Any adult over 18 years of age across the United States with a valid email address can join the Holiday Challenge.   • BCS teacher in Top Two Regional Teacher of the Year Finalist

    For more than 50 years our nation has honored teachers with the National Teacher of the Year Program . The National Teacher of the Year Program, sponsored by the Voya Financial, Inc., is a project of the Council of Chief State School Officers. Since 1970, North Carolina has participated in this program recognizing outstanding teachers. In 2013, the NC Department of Public Instruction announced their partnership with Burroughs Wellcome Fund as the new major sponsor of the North Carolina Teacher of the Year Program.

  • Local schools donate to Ronald McDonald House

    The family of Dr. Andrakeia Shipman, and employees from Bladen County Schools, delivered a sizable donation to the Ronald McDonald House in Durham, NC. The donations were given in memory of Dr. Shipman, niece of Bladen County Schools CTE Director Willa Dean Shipman Williams.
