• The purpose of this page is to inform how Bladen County Schools will communicate COVID-19 positive cases within our schools.

Bladen County Schools will continue to share information with our families and community, taking great care to ensure individuals aren't readily identifiable while providing transparent communication to the fullest extent possible. This year, more than ever, the health and well-being of our school communities is the responsibility of all. Parents and guardians should notify their school as soon as possible if their student is exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, seeking a diagnosis, or receives a positive test result. Staff members must also speak with their principal or supervisor in any of these instances.

In the event of a positive or probable COVID-19 case in our schools, our BCS Schools COVID-19 Protocols will be followed:

    • Any individual who tests positive will be contacted by the health department and/or Bladen County Schools' School or Lead Nurse to begin contact tracing.
    • Anyone deemed exposed will be asked to quarantine for a 10-day period and monitor for symptoms. Any students in this situation will continue learning virtually.
    • All families of students attending the same school will be notified of a positive case.
    • All staff at the same school will be notified of a positive case. In the case of traveling staff members, all sites will be notified as well.
