How to Become a Substitute Teacher

Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED (Associate's or Bachelor's Degree is preferred)
- Transcript must reflect hours completed and grade point average
- All foreign transcripts must be equivocated through an approved agency
- Valid Drivers' License
- Social Security Card
- Successful completion of the online Substitute Training Course with a composite passing score of 80%
- If you have a valid, current teaching certificate, you are exempt from taking the online Substitute Training Course. However, you must provide a copy of your certificate.

Online Effective Substitute Teaching Course
The Effective Substitute Teaching Online Training Course is $49.00 per person.
To be considered for employment as a Substitute Teacher with Bladen County Schools, you must complete the online course with a composite passing score of 80$. You will be required to to include a copy of your certificate with your Bladen County Schools application.
If you have a valid, current teaching certificate, you are exempt from taking the training course, however, you must provide a copy of your certificate with your application.
