Mrs. Teresa Wiles

7th and 8th Grade Social Studies Teacher

Mrs Wiles has been teaching in Bladen County for 23 years.  She loves the opportunities that CSD offers teachers to extend their expertise and creativity to the afternoon elective classes. This emphasis on creativity has helped her to earn nine Bright Ideas Grants, a WalMart grant and Target grant, which have evolved into six new elective classes. She feels very fortunate to have the support of Four County Electric Membership in naming her a Bright Ideas State "Tar Heel Teacher of the Week" in 2013.

Mrs. Wiles sets high standards for herself as well as for her students. She models respect for herself and others, adaptability to changing situations, and a life-long pursuit of learning.  In today's technological world, she feels it is her responsibility to stay current with the latest advances in teaching technology by participating in local workshops and attending state and national conferences. She continues to grow professionally by improving her technology skills, designing diverse, real-life learning activities and learning from colleagues. To prepare her students for the next level of their education, she feels it is her responsibility to integrate technology into real-life learning experiences that they can connect to their present lives, as well as to their future.
