In conjunction with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NC DHHS) and East Arcadia School, MAKO Medical (MAKO) is providing free, weekly, COVID-19 PCR screening. The MAKO team will administer an anterior nasal swab that is quick and gentle.

COVID-19 variants are continuing to spread throughout the United States and research shows that routine testing can reduce the spread of COVID-19 by 50%, especially in large settings, such as schools. Testing is not required, however, MAKO and NC DHHS strongly recommend participating in this free program.

To enroll in the testing program, patients must complete the registration process. Students under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian complete the registration on their behalf. Parents/guardians/patients will give consent and HIPAA authorization to MAKO, their school nurses, and their principal. All testing information is confidential. Notification of testing results will be sent within 24-48 hours from collection.
