Back to School Bash

The Elizabethtown Rotary Club is sponsoring a "Polo to Go" Back to School campaign in which we are collecting new polos to give away at the Back to School Bash at the Cape Fear Farmer's Market on August 17th from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.  We are reaching out to the area schools, local businesses, and churches to set up collection sites for new polos for our Bladen County children, all ages, all schools.

We are still doing the uniform exchange so if you want to bring in your gently used uniforms, we will attempt to exchange them for another gently used uniform at the event, provided we have the size and color you need.  You can also just donate them for the exchange on August 17th.

Last year, we had a great response and many people participated in the exchange.  We had a few students, however, that we had to turn away simply because we did not have the right fit and color.  This year, our goal is to give everyone who attends a new polo to start back to school.  We need you help to get the message out.  We are calling the schools to set up a donation box, but it would be helpful if you could send this message out for us to make the process easier.

We are asking the public to buy a new polo, any Bladen County School color, any size, and drop it in a donation box.  We will collect them all and distribute them at the Back to School Blast on August 17th.  Any new polos that are not distributed will be dropped off at the respective school to be distributed as needed.

The planning for the Back to School Blast is taking place as we speak with many county agencies participating to make this a great, unified effort, to help our students return to school with a new haircut, fresh polo, and school supplies in hand.  More information will be coming as we complete the details for the August 17th event, but we need to get the polo donations coming.  Many stores already have their polos out and parents are shopping for back to school needs.  Hopefully, they can buy one more for someone who cannot.  Please help us get this information out.
