At its October 12 regular monthly meeting, the Bladen County Board of Education approved Marcus Edge as the new assistant principal of Bladenboro Primary School. Mr. Edge is replacing Jason Folsom who in September was named the new principal of Bladen Lakes Primary School.
Edge has served as the visual arts teacher of Elizabethtown Middle School since Fall 2020. He completed his principal internship at Bladenboro Primary School in 2019. Prior to coming to Bladen County, he worked in Columbus County until 2020 as a visual arts teacher at Hallsboro Middle School, Acme Delco Middle School, and West Columbus High School. While in Columbus County in 2019, he completed a principal internship at Tabor City Middle School and Whiteville High School.
Edge graduated from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke with a master’s degree in visual arts education, and a master’s degree in school administration. He received a bachelor’s degree in communications and public relations from North Carolina State University.
“I am thankful for this opportunity to support the students and teachers of Bladen County in the capacity of Assistant Principal at Bladenboro Primary School. I look forward to the adventures ahead,” says Edge.
