As we prepare for the new school year, we're taking a look back to revisit and celebrate highlights from this past year!
Bladen County Schools is proud to recognize the achievements of our high school seniors who earned the North Carolina Citizenship Proficiency Endorsement—a new honor available for the first time in our state.
This endorsement, which is added to students’ high school diplomas, reflects a strong understanding of United States history and civics. To earn this recognition, students were required to pass an oral exam modeled after the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Naturalization Test. The opportunity reinforces the importance of civic education and encourages a deeper appreciation of American government and citizenship responsibilities.
During the spring semester, Merideth Colville, Curriculum Specialist, and Stephanie Norris, Executive Director of Academic Services, visited each high school to provide students with the opportunity to complete the assessment.
We are proud to announce that:
Bladen Early College High School had 7 students earn the endorsement.
East Bladen High School had 78 students achieve this recognition.
West Bladen High School led the way with 105 students earning the endorsement.
These numbers are a testament to our students’ commitment to academic excellence and civic awareness, as well as the ongoing support of dedicated staff members who help guide their success.
Bladen County Schools congratulates all of the seniors who earned this important designation. Their hard work demonstrates not only academic achievement, but a readiness to engage as informed, responsible citizens.
