Bladen County Schools

Bladen County Schools Exceptional Children’s Office hereby notifies the public of its intent to
destroy confidential special education records.

This notice serves to inform former students or their legal guardians that these records may be
needed in the future for purposes such as Social Security benefits, legal documentation, or
personal reference.

Former students (or their legal guardians) born in 1969 through 1978 who received special
education services while enrolled in Bladen County Schools may request a copy of their
confidential special education file prior to destruction.

To obtain records, the former student or legal guardian must contact the Exceptional Children’s
Office. A valid photo ID is required before any records will be released. The individual receiving
the records must also sign a receipt form confirming that the documents were received.

All confidential special education records of individuals born in 1969 through 1978 will be
