Today, our Health Science classes West Bladen High School and East Bladen High School participated in Stop the Bleed certification and career awareness activities.

During the Stop the Bleed training, we learned important lifesaving skills for controlling severe bleeding in emergencies. We also explored various health care career paths and learned more about the training and education needed for different medical professions. It was a great hands-on experience that helped us build confidence and awareness about real-world health care situations.

Mrs. Todd, Mrs. Hinson and Mrs. Chavis are so proud of our new professionals. Thank you so much UNC School of medicine and AHEC of NC.

"The supervised agricultural experience highlight for this week is Caroline Musselwhite. Caroline's project is gardening. She created a garden at her home. She has planted lettuce, kale, and collards for the fall season. Caroline used the knowledge and skills she gained from Horticulture classes along with help from her family to create her garden. Caroline also used skills from Agricultural Mechanics classes to build the raised bed. The WBHS agricultural department is very proud of the work Caroline is doing in agricultural related fields. "

📣 Hands-On Learning in Animal Science at West Bladen! 🐔💙

Students in West Bladen’s Animal Science classes have been busy learning valuable hands-on skills in poultry handling and showmanship. Through guided practice and classroom instruction, they are gaining confidence and knowledge in areas such as poultry anatomy, safe handling techniques, and meat cut identification.

These experiences not only prepare students for FFA competitions and livestock events, but also build a strong foundation in animal welfare, food safety, and agricultural career readiness.

We’re proud of our Knights for their hard work, professionalism, and enthusiasm as they continue developing skills that connect classroom learning to real-world agriculture! 🐣💪 #WestBladenFFA #CTE #HandsOnLearning #AnimalScience

A huge thank you to Ms. Becky Spearman from the Bladen County Cooperative Extension for leading the training and sharing her expertise with our students. Her continued support helps connect classroom learning with real-world agricultural industry standards.

We’re proud of our Knights for taking this important step toward becoming responsible, knowledgeable, and certified animal science professionals! 💙 #WestBladenFFA #CTE #AnimalScience #BQA #PQA #YQCA #BladenCountyExtension

The WBHS FFA chapter attended the 98th National FFA convention last week. Students were chosen to represent WBHS FFA at the national level by submitting a resume and cover letter. WBHS FFA student, Ava Bordeaux submitted a video showcasing her talent. Students participated in leadership workshops, a career expo, and general business sessions. Attending this event was a great learning experience for WBHS FFA. At National Convention students can see firsthand how FFA provides resources to aid students in reaching their personal and professional goals. FFA does this through competitive events, agricultural projects, and leadership opportunities and demonstrating talent. Thank you to the following students for representing West Bladen High school well.
