Students interested in pursuing a career in criminal justice have a great opportunity through the North Carolina Criminal Justice Fellows Program (CJFP)!

This program provides funding for tuition, fees, and books for students who plan to earn an Associate in Applied Science in Criminal Justice (or related field) at a North Carolina community college — and then work full-time in an eligible criminal justice profession anywhere in the state.

High school seniors and graduates are eligible to apply. Applications are open from August 1 to April 30, and up to 100 fellowships are awarded each year.

Today we recognize Coach Nikki Bryant and Coach Darryl Rutland for their quick thinking and calm response during a recent choking incident involving one of our volleyball players. Their immediate action and use of first aid made all the difference in keeping our student safe.

Both coaches were recognized by the Bladen County Board of Education for their heroism and dedication to student safety.

The Supervised Agricultural Experience highlight for this week is Brody Rhodes!

Brody’s first project focuses on mechanical maintenance, where he repairs and maintains his Legends race cars throughout the season. The skills he’s developing directly connect to agricultural mechanics and hands-on problem-solving.

His second project is a paid placement at a turkey farm in Bladenboro, where he monitors the health of the birds and performs maintenance on equipment and facilities.

The West Bladen High School Agriculture Department is very proud of the work Brody is doing in agricultural-related fields. Keep up the great work, Brody! 💜🤍
