BCS Families—

Due to the threat of severe weather in our area and out of an abundance of caution, Bladen County Schools will transition to an asynchronous remote learning day for students and an optional workday for staff tomorrow, Monday, March 16.

Asynchronous learning means that students will work independently on assignments that teachers have either posted in Canvas or Google Classroom.

Staff will receive information about the optional workday from their supervisors later this evening.

All after-school events and activities are cancelled for Monday, March 16. Additionally, the special-called Board of Education meeting scheduled for Monday has been postponed until Tuesday, March 17, at 6:30 PM.

Thank you and please stay safe.

Today we have two Employees of the Week, Mrs. Arlene Wren and Mrs. Demia Bolden.
Mrs. Arlene Wren serves as our school social worker and plays an important role in supporting the well being and success of our students each day. Through her compassion, guidance, and dedication, she helps students overcome challenges and stay focused on their goals. Mrs. Wren is also the proud mother of students Faith and Andrew, and we are grateful for the care and commitment she brings to our school community.
Mrs. Bolden is one of our math teachers and a valued member of our faculty. She is known for her dedication to helping students understand challenging concepts and for the positive relationships she builds in the classroom. We are grateful for the impact she has on our students and look forward to welcoming her back with us soon.

Last week our West Bladen Key Club students spent an eye-opening day volunteering at Second Harvest Food Bank. Not only did they roll up their sleeves to help, but they also learned the "why" behind the work—discovering how food banks act as a vital lifeline for families across our community.

We are so proud of these students for leading with their hearts and growing as community leaders.
