Notice of Special Called Meeting
The Bladen County Board of Education will hold a special called meeting on Monday, June 29, at 6 PM, for the purpose of discussing and taking action regarding the following items: Plain View and East Arcadia School Properties; Lawn Care Services Contract for the 2026-2027 School Year; School Resource Officers for 2026-2027, Student Code of Conduct for 2026-2027, and to go into closed session to discuss personnel, as per NCGS 143.318.11 (a) (1), to consult with an attorney, if needed, as per NCGS 143.318.11 (a) (3), and to return to open session to take action on personnel matters.
The meeting will be held in the board room at the District Administration Building.

The purpose of the Work Study program through Career and Technical Education (CTE) is to expose students to employability skills and allow them to explore potential career options. On Tuesday May 26, 2026 the Summer Work Study students met at the Bladen County Board of Education to go through the onboarding process. During onboarding, students were acclimated to a typical process that takes place after hiring on any job. Students worked with Human Resources, the finance department, and Career and Technical Education (CTE) staff to learn how to properly complete hiring paperwork and the correct documentation needed for completion.
Pictured is Tammy Elliott, West Bladen High School Career Development Coordinator helping Ariana McKiver and Jordan Powers complete their hiring paperwork. As part of the CTE WorkStudy program, during the summer months, Ariana will work with the Bladen County Schools Technology department and Jordan will work with the Bladen County Schools Human Resources Department.
